This is a gift set although I'm not sure who would really want to receive it as a gift. They can make someone angry, so I don't recommend giving it as a gift. It is well packaged, looks good and is well designed. It comes with clear instructions and I found them helpful. The box can be easily tucked away so it is not difficult to remove. The device itself has the lightest calibration file already installed and comes preloaded so it's ready to go when it arrives. There are three other files that can be substituted for the larger grit needed to remove calluses. I can't confirm the actual water resistance of this product yet, but it's supposed to be fine in the shower. I sat down on the toilet seat and quickly got my legs up, zipper zip --- ready! I was very surprised how easy and effective it is. No more standing in the shower trying to file your calluses with the fear of slipping and falling, no thanks. I'll sit down and do it safely and effectively - and FASTER than any other tool I have, and safer. I love it and am surprised at how much I appreciate it because as I get older I have to be more careful about my safety lest I break my hip or something catastrophic. It's also easy to clean, just remove the top and wash under hot water in the sink. The kit includes a cleaning brush, which is useful for removing dust that accumulates in the head of the device.
