Vibration Dampers for my 2018 Nissan Rogue

I bought a StP Silver damper for my 2018 Nissan Rogue. I wanted to reduce road noise/vibration coming through the doors and improve the sound quality of my car stereo. I think this product worked very well and was easy to install even for someone with limited auto repair experience (like me). It was also the best price per square foot I could find. Pros ● Easy to apply and sticks well to the metal on the inside of my door ● The sheets are marked to make measuring and cutting easier. I even had extra material if I wanted to do something different, like a roof or hood. As an added bonus, it didn't have a strong odor like some products. ● Doors close more quietly (due to reduced vibrations) ● I drive much more quietly now - there is much less outside noise in the car. .Disadvantages:● The car will gain some weight. It was imperceptible to me, but someone might be interested. I know the StP Aero version of this product is a little lighter, but for what I wanted it didn't matter. Again, you might be more interested in the extra weight than I am. ● It would be helpful to have a second person with you during the installation. As a beginner it took me a long time to figure out how to take the door apart. It's not really the product's fault, but it's something to think about. I'm glad this material is finally out in the US. As far as I know, this is the only brand that supplies its products to car manufacturers and is used in car audio competitions across Europe. I do soundproofing as part of my full time job so I was aware of StP but had never used it here. When I called the company to ask about another project I wanted to do (the bottom of a car) they recommended using all three coats of their material for maximum effect (I think the rest are Accent and Noise Block), so I think I'll heed their advice as I begin this task. For the installation I needed a set of screwdrivers, a blade (I only used Xacto), a degreaser (essential for surface cleaning), scissors and a roller to get all the air out. blisters.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Almost never
