I have naturally wavy/curly/frizzy hair that refuses to hold an even curl no matter how much heat or hairspray I use. So I watched a few videos and added this to what has worked for me in the past to get the result shown in the photo. It was DAY 3! It somehow went like this for about 5 days without using anything other than a leave-in conditioner on the ends. I took off a star because hair ties aren't silk. The material covering the roll appears to be. A few tips that helped: 1. Wash hair and let it dry 75-80%. I have a lot of very fine hair that dries very quickly, so I wrapped it in Turbie Twist (a special microfiber hair dryer) for about 20 minutes. Adjust how fast your hair dries.2. Part your hair as desired, then quickly comb to detangle. (Use a wet brush if you have one!).3. Attach the center of the tube to the crown of your head. Start at one side of the piece and use your finger to snip off about 2 inches. Brush it towards the pipe and then wrap it around once. Now lower your hand another two inches and grab the other section. Add this to the section you just wrapped and brush in the direction of the tubing. Then wrap the pipe and repeat the process to the end. If you have long hair like me, you may need to carefully slide the previously wrapped strands into the tube so you don't run out of space. **The thicker your hair, the smaller strands you'll want to capture (otherwise some of them will remain wet and won't be styled properly). **4. When you get to the end, wrap the last section of hair around the tube about 3 inches from the bottom. If needed, gently push your hair up the tube to gain extra space. Then bend the end so that it is parallel to the part the hair is wrapped around. This should pinch your ends between them. Take a hair tie and wrap it around two parallel pieces of tubing so your ends can't come out. It can take practice to get it right the first try. sleep that night. I sleep on my side and have found I can sleep in it if I tilt the pillow properly under my head. I'm too tired to worry that everything is perfect (it just won't be); this did not affect the results.6. Removal: Make sure all hair is dry before removing. Blow dry the wet areas on a low setting if needed, just remember to let them cool so they don't lose their shape. Once cool and dry, carefully remove the top clip and hair ties. With one hand, gently pull the hose straight up from where you removed the clamp. Do this slowly, gently shaking off the curls. Gently flip your head and gather your hair into a high ponytail. Leave it like that for at least twenty minutes. (Adds volume at the crown and helps remaining wet areas to air dry without pulling all the weight.) Take out the ponytail and finger comb it as needed. Enjoy! Hope that helps!
