The guide is simple, easy to install, but the direction of the sanding belt moves away from the guide with a force created between the Strap and the knife that pulls the knife and makes it difficult to control the angle. I found that by using the area of the abrasive belt above the guide it was much easier to control the knife while sharpening and it was easy to see the angle of the guide and the side of the knife to adjust the angle for an even sharpening to maintain . So I just sharpened my knives by hand and by eye with a light touch and found it worked for me.
