They are slightly smaller than 0.55" square at the base - closer to 0.5" square. They fit easily into a 5-wire cable (about the size of a Category 6 cable). I'm glad they came with a plastic cover remover otherwise I would have ruined the sticky pads when removing or removing the covers. A note (and a suggestion for the manufacturer to improve it): The corners of the beveled face of the clamp hole have sharp/pointy edges, so be sure to line them up in tight spaces to avoid scratching yourself or anything. what can work against it. I ended up filing the corners as I used them around the inside edge of the bike's top case, but they would be perfect if they had smooth edges/corners.
