Review on ILG8SFRC Smart Exhaust Fan Remote Control Kit - White for iLiving Products by Brenda Quiroz

Weak and bad quality.

Installation was pretty easy. I already had an outlet and it wasn't difficult to connect the fan I bought. However, I realized very quickly, after a few days, that this was going to be a tricky product. I mounted the remote on the wall about 8 feet from the temperature sensor. It had to go through the roof, but that was all. I constantly found the fan off on a hot day in the middle of the day. I pushed the buttons and woke up the console, and then suddenly the fan came on. I always left the system in automatic mode, but it didn't matter. I tried putting in new batteries and moving the remote control in case there was a problem with the signal. It was frustrating to say the least, but it worked enough to beat him. Check out the temp in the attic a few days ago after hitting the 80's here. It showed 96 and the remote showed the fan was running at full speed. Upon further inspection, the fan was turned off. I have my tools and a Fluke voltmeter. I had power to the switch box in the attic, but no power came out of it. I've tried disabling everything to see if a reboot is required. It clearly reads the temperature on the remote control, but no longer turns on the fan. The tricky disappointing device died less than 8 months after purchase. Yes, I installed it correctly. It's a real bummer, but I've upgraded to a more commercial device with no remote control. A "set and forget" type device and then installed a switch on the outlet that provides power so I could turn off the fan and keep warm in the winter.
