I am a mechanical engineer and I find the design and construction of this mirror outstanding. Installation was easy, and once I adjusted it the way I wanted it and tightened it, it didn't budge for over 50 miles, with some really bumpy sections along the way. I recently purchased a Lightning Phantom II recumbent due to my advanced age and health issues. I tried fitting a Mirrycle bar end mirror (from my mountain bike) to it, but found the steerer tube ID was too small (the tube wall is thicker than usual). So I checked the pipe OD, found it was 22.1mm and ordered this Venzo. I have found that if you mount this mirror on the horizontal part of the handlebars (it doesn't work close to the handlebars due to the 'teardrop shape' of the handlebars on this bike) the mirror will be placed at eye level and you will be unhindered and with wide field of view over the left shoulder. I've had many bike mirrors over the years and this one in this recumbent position is the best of them all. I will be writing to Lightning Bikes and advising them to offer this mirror as an option on this bike. And by the way, it looks good too. made for the bike.
