Review on Turtle Beach Elite Tactical Audio Controller by Rachel Lott

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great in every way, but better for PC users because of the cables

The control options this gives you are amazing. It's really nice to be able to adjust the microphone sensitivity so easily on the fly. There are times when someone is outside mowing the lawn or I have the fan on and it's great to be able to quickly turn on so the mic doesn't pick up those things. The microphone monitoring is also great! I hate playing games with people who have no idea what they sound like and what their mic is picking up and broadcasting to everyone. It makes me a more polite pro player. Plus, it's perfect for quickly prioritizing voice chat over game audio, or disabling both together! It's annoying when talking to friends and having to put up with loud game sounds or music while loading a game or in a menu. No more digging through the game settings to find out you can't change the music in the title menu. This device is everything. Now for the neutral and negative parts: the price is obviously the same. Second, it seems best designed for PC gaming. The reason I say this is because it's annoying to have to run USB cables and fiber optic cables through your living room, worry about stepping on the fiber optic cable, and carefully tuck it away when you're done. Also, I don't like constantly switching cables from Xbox to PS4. I would leave the fiber plugged into the TV, but then there is a slight audio delay as the audio has to be routed to an extra location. Yes, I know I'm very lucky to have two consoles, but still! For the cables alone, I think this device is best used at a PC desk. But I still love him. It'll be nice when the wireless headphones get good enough, but until then, this is my favorite.
