I use this mount on a single engine airplane. I previously had a Ram mount designed for the iPad Mini 3. One thing I didn't like was having to take the iPad out of its case to put it in the holder. When I bought a new iPad Mini 4 it didn't fit in my old mount so I needed a new mount. With this mount I can leave it in a suitcase. The device slides in and out easily, but is unlikely to fall out due to turbulence. If I had bought this mount I wouldn't have had to switch mounts just because Apple decided to add an iPad by a fraction of an inch. I found, that on my plane the mount works best when installed in reverse to the ball adapter. I also compensated for this by using only two screws in the adapter. These small adjustments give me an unobstructed view of the dashboard; and two screws seem sufficient.
