Review on πŸ’» PS07B Black Mini Tower Computer Case by Silverstone Tek: Micro-ATX Mini-DTX, Mini-ITX, Plastic with Aluminum Accent by Damian Toupal

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I wanted a smaller case that didn't compromise, and I got it.

I've lived with an "average" tower for many years, and my perception of it has never been "average". So I've been looking for a smaller case for a while, the problem is you need to be sure your motherboard will fit, as the name suggests, it's NOT a full size ATX tower and it only fits micro and mini -Boards. . Luckily, my current mobo fits the bill. I've looked at other competitors including some other Silverstone models but this one seems to come out on top in terms of design, it suits me best. Some highlights I liked: -2 front 3.5" bays that I use for hot-swap hard drives and card readers. I keep my DVD drive external as I never use it. Smallest footprint in each case without sacrificing flexibility. Suitable for large radiators such as Hyper 212+. The quality is good, not exceptional, but good enough, I don't care if the faceplate isn't aluminum. no Mac Mini, but then again we're talking about uncompromising. This thing cuts off most of what was bothering me in the middle tower. Basically, I've found that I don't use any hard drive space, SSDs take up much less space, and I prefer to use external docks/hard drives over internal ones, so I don't need a dozen big bay tower. It's got just the right amount and I don't even use them as they've also created a smart little SSD-only slot that stays out of the way and takes up virtually no space. When you look at it, you'll understand that it's as small as you can physically build a tower that doesn't require any proprietary parts. System but if you don't have the patience or attention to detail I can see it's not a very pleasant experience. Cabling in particular is something you can't easily route, they involve many ways to intelligently route your cables and if you don't read up on these methods and just shove cables everywhere you will probably work. in questions. They have also built in additional options for you such as B. a top rear vent that you may or may not use depending on how you mount the PSU, and another rear fan space that they include if you want to add a little more flow. In addition, the hard drive bay is removable in case you need to install larger PCIE components. Fan and Noise I like the airflow. two fans in front, such air does not come in front, but on both sides, awesome! There is also an easily removable dust cover. The noise is very low, not dead silence, but a low hum has never bothered me. I would have preferred a little more air movement, but then again I haven't had an overheat alarm yet. I don't overclock or game, but I do a lot of HD video editing. Vibrations are minimal, but that's probably because I don't have any rotating discs in it. They also included some nice soft rubber feet to keep vibrations from being transmitted from your aging Raptor rims and resonating with the ground. something that many smaller cases cannot. And even better, since they made the case a bit wider, you can fit a big cooler like my Coolermaster Hyper 212+ in it and have a little more clearance. a small support bar for such large heatsinks, I don't know if that thing really does any good but hey that's a bonus and maybe reassuring. It seems like they really thought about how to stuff everything in there when they did this have designed. Read the manual, familiarize yourself, take your time. I'm an experienced builder and yes I know that feeling, hey I can build anything in 5 minutes, I don't need manual blah blah. You'll save yourself a lot of headaches by dropping this ego, just read the manual to see the tidbits of how this case was designed. Consensus I got exactly what I wanted. If you are looking for a small case that is well built and designed and allows you to use most of what you use in a build then I definitely recommend this one.
