loud shrill beep when pressing any key

I wanted to like the device as it looks good and costs a little less than others, but every time you press any key, it turns on, regulates the heat, controls the flame, etc. it gives a loud, high-pitched beep, similar to a smoke alarm. I ended up choosing a different brand.
