I want to help anyone who may be missing the Chime Adjustment Guide. The general instructions for setting a quartz clock on Howard Miller's website omit the following important information for this clock: If you need to reset the clock after an hour or more, first remove both batteries and set the clock to 5:50 a. Then insert both batteries and set the clock to the current time. Note that the clock has been reset to 5:50 AM, so after 12:00 PM you will need to move the hands clockwise if you want to set the time to PM. This process is important so that the clock rings according to the time, so: 8 chimes at 8:00. I almost lost my instructions and was in pickle until I found them. I want to help someone else who is less fortunate. This is an excellent mantel clock - large, solid, elegant and accurate.
