This is the first time I've tried a shower cap like this. The outer layer is the same material as the 'new style - no lining required' shower curtains, which I don't think are exactly 'waterproof'. I like that it's "adjustable" with the drawstring, but I usually like to "free my ears" from the edge of the shower cap - it's much more comfortable for me. I can't do that with this cap without losing hope of dry hair. My hair is almost shoulder length and I tie it in a high ponytail, then twist and pin it in place before using a shower cap. It has enough room for my bun and then some. I think it depends on how much water you expect/how you use it, whether it works for you or not - umm - not very useful right? I am sorry. I will say that it is much prettier than a regular plastic cap.
