UPDATE: While I still recommend this product, I now recommend buying two. About six months after we bought this item, the wrist strap broke off. This made it difficult to use. I would also like to add that I think this product has helped me gain traction in my daily routine. In December 2013, my little nonviolent protester gave in to my wishes and began to submit to the extremely embarrassing act of holding hands with mom. My 20 month old son has a wild streak. He has a speech delay and is very curious. I tried the backpack straps after attempting to hit the road several times a few months ago. When I put a backpack on him, he immediately went back to his training from his earlier life as a civil rights activist. He fell to the ground and remained unconscious. He realized that my cute bag trick was actually a control mechanism and part of a deeper plan to thwart his attempts to sprint onto the street. With a wrist strap, he holds it for a game. It has remained fairly controllable during our recent trials with this product. He didn't go limp at all in protest. For $3, I highly recommend trying this out!
