Review on Dreo Radiator Electric Protection Thermostat by Peggy Petty

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Revised review. . . I actually like the heater but the cord is still only 6 feet instead of 10.

After writing this initial review I had a friendly correspondence with a company representative and he and I came with the perfect fit "workaround" for the 6ft cord, which was my only criticism of the heater. I've been using the heater for a few days now, it works great. I particularly like the ease of use of the remote control, as I often find it difficult to sit on the sofa to reach the heater itself. Also, I checked the cable and it doesn't overheat at all when warm. However, I want the cord to be 10 feet, not 6. Turns out the video promoting the heater was NOT sponsored by the company, and in that video I was given the "information" that that Cable 10ft long was ft long which would suit my needs much better. I hope the company will note on their listing on this site that the cable is only 6 feet long. And I hope that someday they can start producing this great heater with a longer cord. MY FIRST REVIEW AFTER THE UPDATE: I was really looking forward to getting this great value heater that keeps me warm when I'm napping on the couch. this winter. The last electric heater I bought (from a completely DIFFERENT BRAND) started smoking and smelling - and almost caught fire - late last winter, so I started looking for a better brand to replace the old one. This DREO model caught my eye for Revain, so I studied it last summer and read reviews from time to time; and I watched videos, including one after another by Adam "Dubz" Ward, apparently sponsored by Dreo. In it he said the power cord was 10 feet long. This was the deciding factor in my purchase as the 10ft cord allowed me to plug it into a good heavy duty wall outlet rather than the floor outlet I used for my last heater. So imagine my disappointment when I opened this heater. Note that the power cord is actually only 6 feet long :-{And it has all sorts of warnings and "danger" labels on it NOT to be used with an extension cord. makes this heater unusable for me. (I'm severely disabled and can't handle a return for this, so I think I'm stuck with a heater that I can't use).

Pros
  • Don't waste too much time
Cons
  • sad packaging
