Review on ๐Ÿงน Efficient Chimney Cleaning with Rutland Products 16908 8-Inch Poly Chimney Cleaning Brush! by Vashod Reed

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Finding out what the neighbor's fire is like makes me think about cleaning.

I've had this since 2014 and it hasn't been used as much as it should be but it has just changed. Luckily we measured properties in acres and when my neighbor burned the top 4 feet of his expensive double walled chimney and melted the lid, the hot ash didn't hit my roof. He burns about 5 cords a season and I'm about a fifth of that, but now I'll be brushing more often. This is a good brush as it won't scratch the inside of the double wall tube so the creosote will still run back into the oven. I'm cheap so I forego buying fiberglass rods and used some 1/2" CPVC tubing to do this, then lowered the cord down the chimney and pulled the brush up. That wasn't as efficient so I'm buying now Rods as my chimneys are only 15ft long for both wood stoves it only takes a few sections I also burn both creosote and soot remover in stoves and it helps a lot and is well worth the money In 2014 it cost about $8 but once you've seen what a chimney can do you'll think it's a steal at twice the price as it's durable and well built and gets the job done I tie a little rope .to the other end of the brush because if the handle fitting breaks I have an easy way to get the brush out.I also put a large waste pipe in the oven (both my pipes are on top) so all the dirt gets in. and relieved the disassembly... and be sure to keep the door closed as the dirt coming out of the pipe is awful to clean. Last summer the gigbor cleaned his pipe with a cheap little brush that wasn't much length and did little to nothing to keep it from burning, and it's a good thing he didn't open the oven door. I don't want to offend anyone's intelligence, but many pipe fires are caused by burning untreated wood, and the resulting wood fumes can be dangerous. I've been fueling mine for at least 2 years and I always have a hot fire with no smoke and my neighbor burns his the year of purchase and he's the one with over $400 in the middle of the heating season.
