Decent receiver until you can afford a real one

2 stars just for hearing the soothing tones of my music albeit through the amazing dirtyness of the skinny qualities of this piece of shit. I take a deep breath. I'm listening to Jill Scott. i try to be honest Pros: It's small and light. It is equipped with Bluetooth. It has loose speaker cords (suggesting that it will indeed be effective with a pair of classic speakers, but not that much). Cons: Comes without instructions. ; not surprisingly difficult to understand, but they might at least have an online troubleshooting guide. (Maybe I missed it and someone can link me to this?) Every time I touch it during playback I get a lot of hissing noise. I think it's because of the size and weight of the device. When a strong wind blows the cables away, it's static. When it's completely still and stable, it *just* plays fine. Acoustic purity, who is this? Instead of an equalizer, there is a bass button. *sigh* I love rhythmic distortion as much as the other girls, but great music has a wide range of sounds, most of which are very difficult to distinguish - even on epically amazing speakers. Bells don't ring, copper doesn't shine, falsetto and soprano are reduced to reserve voices for bass and alto. (Yes, I read other reviews and thought my speakers might make up for the receiver's shortcomings. Wrong. The factory speakers on my computer have better clarity.) Ultimately, this product doesn't support serious speakers. I'm not sure who this is for, because what else are you going to plug into the receiver for free other than a serious set of speakers? I do not know. I would recommend this product to anyone who is building their own sound system and just needs something to back them up until they can afford something MUCH better.
