Our church manufactures adaptive bicycles for special needs students in the district school system. Bicycles are provided free of charge to needy students. Most parts come from donated or discarded bikes and we make our own trike frames. However, the seats are the real problem. Most special needs students need a really wide seat with padding or side support to keep them centered and secure in the seat. This Sihmqik seat does just that with its "concave" design. It's lower in the middle and higher on the sides. The seat is also very wide, which provides students with better stability. The only drawback for us is the price. But we just have to live with that. Obviously, our needs are quite unique and this overview may not apply to more common use. But it's a very good place and really very efficient for our students.
