Our unit is out of order. And I had to pay for the return shipping. WOW

I did a lot of research on different air purification products and had a very hard time deciding but this one seemed highly recommended with the features we wanted and a good filtration system so I bought it through Revane. I ordered a white Mediify MA-40 (model 2.0 update) as that was the only option available at the time. . . black must have been sold out. I ordered MA-40 filters and 2 packs. . . However, I still haven't received the filters a week after receiving the MA-40. The device arrives very well packaged and looks very well constructed. The top panel has a very high quality finish, and the controls are very convenient. I read the manual that came with the unit and also watched the reviewer's setup video, so I followed the installation instructions correctly.1. The very first thing that happened when I turned on the device was a rather loud noise as the fan hit something, but it went away very quickly. This happened a few more times when I tilted the unit at an angle, so I suspect something wasn't secured properly when it was assembled. I found small pieces of plastic on the carpet where I installed the device.2. The next problem was that the device only has (3) speeds. The description clearly states that it is a 4 speed fan. I found no difference between hibernation and low settings. The sleep mode lights eventually go out, but there's no difference in fan speed or noise levels. Which of course leads to a low noise rating. Even at low volume, the MA-40 moves a lot of air and is quite loud.3. The last problem is related to the functioning of the ionizer. At first I thought the switch or the LED bulb was broken as it didn't work on low settings. I have found that when I set the airflow to medium or high, the ionizer switch actually works. . . However, there is no smell of fresh ionized air in the room. Yes, I know what the ionizer function is and how the room should smell when this function is activated. The ionizer just didn't work on this unit and I also have a feeling it should work on low and sleep settings. Please note that in my experience I have contacted Medify Air customer support on two separate occasions in the past week. However, they seemed to dance around issues related to 4 speeds as well as ionization. They offered to replace the device, but we didn't need another device with 3 speeds, without the function of the ionizer. With a (1) star rating for sleep mode, noise and odor levels, and a defective unit, I requested a return to Revain this morning. No problem . . . I type in a very brief description of the problem (they don't really have much space for it) and get a return authorization. Then I experience another surprise. . . I had to pay shipping costs to return a defective item. It cost me $87 to ship the device back to Mediify Air. . . YES $87. . . WOW. And I haven't even received the filters yet and will probably have to pay for the return postage. . . Both parts of the return cost me $113.22. I recommend anyone considering this product to read the fine print on returns. WOW $113.22 I have to pay to return a defective product. Update - The first part of the return was delivered by FedEx on Friday 10 April 2020 at 13:09, the second part of the return was delivered on Thursday 16 April 2020 at 12:17. Today is 4/23/2020 and I have not received any credits to my Revain account. This is a purchase that just keeps going. . .
