Anyone who owns an ef 400mm 5.6 knows that it requires bright light and hates shadows and cloudy days. Thanks to Better Beamer, I can finally use my 400mm lens when the light isn't perfect. Illuminates the subject and nearby background and largely fills in the shadows directly in the frame when photographed from 30-70 yards away. The only adjustment I make is FEC increase (ETTL mode) on my 580ex. This can work even for long distances, but I've tried around 70 meters. At this distance, +2 FEC stops are just right, even in deep shadows. Simple, super efficient and easily portable. Brilliant product.
