I use this on my Yongnuo 565EX flash, not Canon. It works great. It's just a piece of hard material that attaches to each flash. It magnifies/concentrates the light so you get better coverage. This is good because it reduces the need for a high power flash and you can lower the flash output and still get good coverage. I can easily light a bird at 60,100 feet with 1/4 power. That means more shots, less cycle time, which means more shots. A must-have for those shooting wildlife with a telephoto…

It is very practical, very practical, works well

It is very practical, good, uses 1/16 de Intensidad del Flash, Consigo, Ráfagas con Buena Iluminación. Point no Tener Problemas de fijación en la unidad del flash, lo sostengo además con una banda elastica de Goma de Otra Marka (S Magnetic) y queda bien fijo. / It is very practical, works well, consumes up to 1/16 flash power, I get series in good light. To avoid problems with the attachment to the flash, I also hold it with another brand's rubber strap (S Magnetic) and it attaches well.

New life for my ef 400mm 5.6

Anyone who owns an ef 400mm 5.6 knows that it requires bright light and hates shadows and cloudy days. Thanks to Better Beamer, I can finally use my 400mm lens when the light isn't perfect. Illuminates the subject and nearby background and largely fills in the shadows directly in the frame when photographed from 30-70 yards away. The only adjustment I make is FEC increase (ETTL mode) on my 580ex. This can work even for long distances, but I've tried around 70 meters. At this distance, +2 FEC…

  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • Not bad

I find it difficult to give this product more stars as it is somewhat incomplete. My problem is with my Canon flash, but it seems a lot of people with the Canon 580EXII have problems with the best emitter bias. When I take a picture, the flash just flies out of the frame. People solve this problem by adding spacers, rubber bands, and other fixes. I would have given more stars if this quirk had been exposed initially. How about adding some ribbons, spacers, offsets, etc. to the actual product as

Great value but beware

This is a great tool for bird photography not only to flash further but to flash faster before the capacitor needs to be recharged. ATTENTION! If you bounce sunlight back onto your gear - lens, camera, flash - the plastic will melt and burn the paint off your lenses. Both my flash and one of my telephoto lenses have scars to prove it. This can happen quickly when you're getting ready to shoot, when the sun is coming out from behind a cloud, or when the shadow has gone. It's like a powerful…

Great way to extend your flash

Better Beam projects the light from your flash further than a single flash. It's easy to attach to the flash, I've found that the Better Beam doesn't sag when I attach it securely. As stated in the instructions, Better Beamer is designed to be used with "long” telephoto lenses, meaning lenses with a focal length of 300mm. or longer. It can be used with shorter lenses, but the light is tightly focused, leaving a bright center and darker edges. It adds a creative night effect to your photos. And…

Comparison with Harbor Digital Flash Extender

I've been using Better Beamer for a long time. It competes with Harbor Digital Flash Extender and each has its own pros and cons. Having recently tried Harbor Digital's product, I thought I'd write a comparison report for anyone interested. Better projector is cheaper. It folds very conveniently, which is why so many professional wildlife photographers use it. It's effortless to take to and from the field, and that portability with the accessories is a huge benefit. It suffers from some degree…
