Review on Enhanced Motorola 56320 Talkabout Earpiece with Boom Microphone (No Longer Available from Manufacturer) by Andrew Choukline

great product Best in Category Headsets & Mics

My buddy and I have used the Motorola 56320 Headset and Boom Microphones a number of times over the past year. We use them in conjunction with Motorola VOX enabled walkie-talkies. They are very comfortable and work as advertised. We have a small complaint. You wouldn't believe it, but I can argue that a cheap 10 cent mic windscreen is the most important component of this product. I discovered this the hard way. The windscreen is not attached to the microphone with adhesive. Over time, the landing loosens and continues to subside. If so, it's only a matter of time before you lose it. We use ours to communicate while cycling. Without a windscreen, the microphone will open and close constantly, regardless of the sensitivity setting. It is almost impossible to buy replacement windshields. We've searched from above and below and found nothing available. We opted for a piece of removable foam cushion. It worked, but we look like idiots! We finally gave up and bought new headphones. So do yourself a favor before using the Motorola 56320, take a moment and tape or glue the windscreen to the microphone. If you don't, you'll kick yourself after you lose and remember that prediction!
