Review on Chromed Brass Female Valve by Joyway by John Jones

Plain Brass Ball Valve

I fitted this ball valve to my air compressor with a 1/4 turn for a quick air shut off. I've secured it with teflon tape and so far it's not leaking at all. This valve has male and female threads so it can be installed in-line with any air hose before the quick disconnect. This can be useful with leaky hoses or old leaky tools that work fine but need to be unplugged to avoid constant air leakage. A quick quarter turn cuts all the air off and so far I haven't noticed a drop in air pressure after waiting 12 hours with the compressor off. The valve is normal but appears to be working fine as long as there is no air leak. , I'm happy with it. The valve only rotates 90 degrees in one direction, so you may need to think about how to mount it if you need it to turn a certain way if you don't have a lot of mounting space. The metal is brass and chrome plated to prevent rust and other types of corrosion over time, which is particularly useful if you're using it for clean water or compressed air before a water separator.

Pros
  • Each valve individually tested for maximum security
Cons
  • Slightly torn
