I bought a vacuum sealer to save our products. I've found these rolls to be economical as you can cut them to the length you want without wasting any material. I sealed meats, veggies, leftovers for freezing, and dry foods like pasta, beans, rice. For flour and powdered milk, dry potato pancakes, I measure portions into a paper sandwich bag, fold the bag, apply some tape to hold the valve in place, and place in a pre-measured vacuum bag and seal. Dry goods that I keep in my pantry for long-term products. This works very well and a 50ft roll takes a while. The bags are of good quality and store well if the vacuum sealer's instructions are followed.
