If I could connect cameras to my phone that would be great. This system comes with a monitor and 4 cameras. A memory card is not required for this system. The hard drive is already installed. Recording will start automatically when the cameras are connected. Setting it up was easy. Simply place the cameras where you need surveillance. Remember that these cameras can only be moved by hand. There is a power cable that needs to be connected to the camera and it is included in the package. The cables can be about 15 feet long. As soon as the camera is plugged into an outlet, it begins to work. You see the image on the monitor and recording starts automatically. I have 2 cameras in my garage which is about 75 feet from my house. I didn't have any connection problems. Just play videos. I only have a problem with the connection to the phone. I installed them the day before my vacation, hoping to see what's going on around my house while I was away. I couldn't connect my phone. I downloaded the app but that's all I have. The book that comes with the system is a bit difficult to read and understand. I wish the instructions were a lot simpler. I will keep working on it because my main issue is WiFi connectivity. I even tried plugging a category 8 ethernet cable directly into the monitor hoping that would help, but I still get nothing. I'll keep working on it when I have time and when I find out I'll make sure to update it. Until then I can only give 3 stars.
