My dog seems to really enjoy this food. She is 14 years old, Lhasa Pu, and her recent high school exam showed the beginning of some kidney problems. Her creatinine was 1.6 mg, indicating the onset of kidney failure. The vet put her on the Royal Canin LP and she didn't like it at all. She ate canned food (without enthusiasm) but avoided dry food. We mixed it with canned food quite well and she just ate it. I did a little research and reading and saw that phosphate levels play a key role in slowing down kidney failure. This feed has worked very well so far. She's been eating it for a few weeks now and shows no signs of wrinkling her nose. We even mix terrible Royal Canin and as long as we mix it well she eats it whole. He also seems to agree with her. She took Wellness Healthy Weight for many years before she was diagnosed, and even then she sometimes didn't want to eat it. So far she was looking forward to her grandmother Lucy. Crossed fingers! It will also be updated when she has her next checkup to see if there are any signs of improvement or slowing down in her kidney failure.
