Best Small Dog Food

My dog is over 14 years old and has been on a prescription diet for many years. After eating, her stomach was always swollen and she felt unwell. She had problems with diarrhea so I finally decided to put my vet's opinion aside and try her out on a quality dog food. I was looking for something that has the lowest phosphorus content and is also easy on the digestive system. My dog loves it! She looks forward to eating again and seems more comfortable after eating. I don't know if she has much…

The picky girl loves it!

My dog seems to really enjoy this food. She is 14 years old, Lhasa Pu, and her recent high school exam showed the beginning of some kidney problems. Her creatinine was 1.6 mg, indicating the onset of kidney failure. The vet put her on the Royal Canin LP and she didn't like it at all. She ate canned food (without enthusiasm) but avoided dry food. We mixed it with canned food quite well and she just ate it. I did a little research and reading and saw that phosphate levels play a key role in…

You saved my dog's life. Many Thanks.

We have a 12 year old Miniature Schnauzer who was starting to have dental problems and had to have a few teeth removed a few weeks ago. She always went crazy with excitement when it was time to eat. If we ever left bad food where she could reach, she would eat until she was sick. So it really worries me when she started picking and refusing her food after having some teeth pulled. We tried giving her canned food and she ate it, but every time we tried to switch her back to dry food, she just…

Ideal for those looking for foods low in phosphorus.

My 14 year old Basset Hound was recently diagnosed with Kidney Disease (CKD). The vet "prescribed" a kidney-friendly diet (low in protein and phosphorus) that left Wellington lethargic and very grumpy. Five years ago he underwent major back surgery. Keeping him sufficiently active is key to maintaining the musculature and therefore stability around his spine. But once he started eating RX food, he stayed within 10 feet of the house and slept the other 23 hours of the day. To be honest I thought

Interesting but problems

To be honest I have mixed feelings about this product. I think they are doing the right thing by using quality ingredients in their food. I have this new thing where I have been testing freeze dried, dehydrated and home delivered fresh dog food as a supplement to my regular high quality grain free dry dog food. As part of this test, I also eat dog food. You might think it's gross, but most of it has to be human-grade food, and I won't feed my dog anything unless I know what it tastes like. This

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Easy to maintain
