Hibermate headphones are for those who, like me, think hard earbuds just don't last. Regardless of the shape, they just fall out. Hibermate buds are soft, allowing them to keep growing. I prefer the smallest of the three sizes. My ears are just closed. Moistening the bud helps a little. They need careful insertion to ensure the sound is properly directed, but after that the sound is as good or even better than some of the full-size phones I've used. And a lot cheaper. They're also useful when using the Hibermate sleep mask, which I do, which has ear pads to block out external noise. When the headphones are on, the volume is very low, you can listen to music while falling asleep. My daughter, who uses regular headphones, always plays music while she sleeps. Overall I'm very happy with it.
