I'm just finishing my first coaching season with the rookie team. We used up pretty quickly all the balls the league gave us, so I bought them too. I find when I reach into the bucket of mixed balls to choose a ball, those are the ones I like the most. They are soft which is a plus if you are dropping a 5 year old. I try to throw a little harder than other coaches to keep the ball flat to keep the ball soft. It's especially nice when the bigger kids are yelling at you and you're only 12 feet away from them. Good advice, keep a 5 gallon bucket of balloons in front of you, at least there's a chance it's the bucket for you! I also like this ball better than the others when you have to consistently take a hit as a pitcher and tee for one of the kids. The MLB logo is perfect for kids to focus on as they swing the ball off the tee. After accepting failure, as a pitcher coach, you must hit the swinging kid's bat, not the kid's job of hitting your pitch. So if they don't hit, it's your fault for missing the bat! Of the three different types of balls we've used this season, this one is my favorite.
