Review on Red Dingo Circadelic Brown Designer Cat Collar by Martha Fernandez

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I love this collar!

I received this collar in mid-December 2011, my cat has been wearing it for almost 2 months now and we have had no problems. Here is my full review: Puller - the puller clamp is very strong and I have to pull hard to pull it off. I've opened/closed it probably a dozen times in the 2 months I've had it and there has been no loss of power. My kitten still couldn't take it off on her own. rigidity. As with some other Red Dingo collar reviews I've read, this collar was quite stiff when I received it. Initially, the collar was badly scratched, and the collar stretched a bit so that when disconnected it formed an arc instead of a straight line (when the disconnector is closed, it looks like a section of a cone). Over time, the collar became less stiff and took on this shape. My kitten is still itching but with less frequency and intensity. Collar Loop - I've seen reviews that because the collar is so stiff the foldable portion that can be used to shorten the collar sticks out in a loop and the kittens pull on the loop while itching and panting. I watched my cat closely but she never pulled or tugged at the sling, she just scratched. Once the collar softened, the loop disappeared and the collar sat on the neck. pattern fabric. The design was very cute and I chose the circadian brown pattern because my Lynx Point kitten has soft brown stripes and blue eyes and the collar complements her beautifully. However, after all that scratching, the woven pattern quickly unraveled, and combined with her occasional licking of her collar while preening, the pattern was no longer visible beneath the brown-blue down. I'm a little disappointed and there doesn't seem to be a way to stop this fabric from unraveling. On the plus side, I haven't seen any threads coming loose from it, so it probably won't come off completely. And the pattern is sewn onto the collar material separately, so the integrity of the collar itself is not violated. Call - The call is very clear and not very distracting, yet loud enough to tell me where she is. The bell on this collar is dark brass and also complemented my kitty. The color on it will rub off with their label, but I guess that's inevitable too. So far I've never seen huge chunks of paint peeling off like I've seen on some cheap wind chimes so that's a plus. Apart from the lint issue I really liked this collar and bought it for my sister whose cat learned to take off her first collar and started taking it off every 30 seconds. My sister bought a second collar (also from PetCo) and her cat took it off in minutes. So far, Red Dingo's collar has stayed in place and her kitty has had no choking issues. We are both very happy with Red Dingo!
