Improper cable insulation was used so the cables transmit noise to the ears when rubbing against clothing

These reinforced base headphones did not sound right when used with my Sansa Clip MP3 player. Adjusting the EQ helped, but I couldn't get them to sound that great. The final deal breaker was how loud my own breathing was and the sound of wires rubbing against my clothes. It was distracting and made it difficult to hear what I was hearing. I believe that the wrong cable insulation was used. I haven't had this with any other headphones, including my other Philips ones.
