Review on Rapco Horizon LTIBLOX Laptop Interface by Daniel Russell

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent PCDI Adapter

I am a professional audio engineer. I work a lot with audio/video and have several of them. I also have other similar items from other manufacturers. Ideal for connecting PCs, iPods, iPads or similar devices to a professional audio system, this adapter does the job perfectly. Rapco Horizon is a good company making quality products right here in the USA. I also have another Rapco model listed below with a Ground Lift derailleur. This is a pretty neat feature. But in my experience, I usually hit the ground lift switch to get rid of the noisy interference. So I'm an electrics and electronics guru instead. I just saved money and bought this Rapco model without the ground switch, opened up the item and removed the ground wire from pin 1 of the XLR jack where the ground switch would be present and permanent. floor in raised position. I also bypassed and removed the "Volume Control" potentiometer on my DI PC because it used to confuse the presenter when they had audio problems and tried to troubleshoot without an audio engineer present. I like to set the laptop output level to 75% and then adjust the mix input gain and volume. This usually works fairly well and gives the presenter some leeway to adjust the volume on the PC. Other great products for similar purposes. Rapco Horizon LTIGLBLOX Rapco Horizon-LTIGLBLOX Ground Lift Switched Laptop Interface This is the second least expensive solution of the four types listed here. What I like about this model is that they have a 1/8" stereo cable attached permanently and won't accidentally slip or dislodge during use. Great price and build quality. Switchcraft 318 Mini AudioStix Switchcraft - 318 AUDIOSTIX Another great one Choice Rapco products But it comes with a black 4 foot 1/8" stereo cable to 1/8" stereo cable. This is the more expensive adapter of the four products listed here. Whirlwind Isopod Whirlwind - Isopod I like this model for certain Purposes because it doesn't have a volume control on the adapter. When people are giving presentations and for one reason or another they don't hear any sound, the volume control can confuse them and they end up turning it off, creating a chain reaction of audio problems. But with the negative Page. The 1/8" stereo cable may come loose. Sometimes I like this option depending on how I use it and place it in the system. For example. When you connect the VGA / 1/8 inch combo audio cable from laptop to projector. At the end of the cable, VGA connects to the projector. I'm going to connect the other end of this 1/8" audio jack to an isopod and convert it to an XLR connector for an audio mixer. Please remember that all these DI adapters only support mono, not stereo. Connect stereo from a laptop or tablet and convert to mono. If you want stereo performance, you'll need to use some other PCDI connections. Try searching for Whirlwind PCDI first.
