Shuts down under load

Original review: No frills like modular/switchable cables, but not a problem if you intend to use all or most of them anyway. Great stock and definitely sturdier than the old one I replaced. Update a few weeks later: After buying 3 of these devices I returned one and now I'm having the same issues with another. Under light loads (300-400 watts) they work fine and that was the basis of my initial review. But now I'm having trouble getting them to work at around 650 watts - they get very hot and shut down spontaneously. While these devices can deliver 1000 watts in short bursts, there's no way they can deliver that amount of sustained power. power for a period of time. So if you really need a 1000W power supply at an affordable price, try the Apevia ATX-PR1000 Prestige. I ran one of these at over 900 watts for several days with no problems.
