I've had my first set for about a year and it's holding up well. My kids are learning to cook for themselves and they haven't melted a single part like the nylon sets. If you see white on it, it's usually because your dishwasher has made minerals out of the water. Run them with pure white vinegar. You can also wash dishes this way if that happens.
