I bought this in early 2014 and use it to help my reactive dog socialize with strangers. This really offers safe engagement at a safe distance. Depending on the type of food used, the jam can sometimes occur in the device, but opening the device and manually rotating the mechanism by hand can easily clear the jam. The device is fairly dog proof. My dog is very good at getting food from different containers. She can hit this block if left alone, but luckily it won't damage it in the process. When I want to make the device more secure (like leaving a room so I can use the remote from another room), I put the device in a case that prevents the food storage door from opening.
