The quality of Sky Kennels has gone down a lot since we bought the first one. This kennel is not as rigid/durable as previous Sky kennels I've had. This kennel was used ONCE, on the same flight, non-stop, from Washington to Frankfurt by Lufthansa (which has above average experience with live animals). ). When we picked up our 9.5 lb cat from baggage claim, there were gaping holes at the top of the kennel where the handle used to be. The handle was completely missing and the piece of plastic that held the handle in the drawer was in pieces along with the cat. If it were a dog and not a cat it could be potentially dangerous - my cat probably won't chew on hard plastic and swallow it, but dogs of the same size certainly can. Pretty annoying - you don't necessarily need a handle at the top, but you certainly don't need two gaping holes at the top of the designated kennel. also for air travel.
