Smaller than advertised

I bought a 21" x 16" box only to find the actual usable space is only 17" long and 12" wide. The picture shows this cage compared to the cage which is actually 21 inches long and 13 inches wide and our average 12 pound cat. Obviously too small. The drawer itself was good quality, I'm just disappointed that the advertised specs came from the very edge of the seams where the fasteners go rather than the usable space.

Not "hard work " at all. I want my money back

I bought this large kennel for a flight from Atlanta to Los Angeles on American Airlines. This was for my 28 lb dog who due to his long legs and torso fits in this cage designed for a 50-70 lb dog. The crate was too bulky to carry alone and kept sliding off the luggage trolley. The tough plastic casing broke when the kennel slid off the luggage cart and fell 4 inches to the ground. A heavy object should not break under such a blow, especially if it is intended for a dog twice as heavy as my…

Came broken. - Carry and stroller

**Update** I got the second one. and guess what, more cracks. I wouldn't recommend this, but that's all I have to use now that I have to go. I hope my dog is safe on the plane. So after looking for a kennel to bring my dog from Mexico to New Zealand. We ordered these after a long search for dog crates. It was recommended as the number one travel box. I first read the negative reviews (like any product) and saw that people's inboxes were hacked. But then I compared that percentage of negative…

Very poor quality, the handle broke on the first and only use.

The quality of Sky Kennels has gone down a lot since we bought the first one. This kennel is not as rigid/durable as previous Sky kennels I've had. This kennel was used ONCE, on the same flight, non-stop, from Washington to Frankfurt by Lufthansa (which has above average experience with live animals). ). When we picked up our 9.5 lb cat from baggage claim, there were gaping holes at the top of the kennel where the handle used to be. The handle was completely missing and the piece of plastic…

The size charts provided by Petmate on the chart are incorrect.

The size charts in the chart provided by Petmate are inaccurate and misleading as they give measurements from the floor to the withers (shoulders) of the pet, not the crown (as required). by the airline). ). As a result, the wrong size kennel was purchased. The pet weighs about 80 pounds but still will not fit in a 70-90 pound (40"L x 27"W x 30"H) kennel despite being compact (i.e. not equal to its weight). The pet was denied accommodation and we missed our flight due to defects in the petmate…

Pros
  • Excellent Overall Performance
Cons
  • Available in Black Only

This is the best kennel you can buy to fly your 30 to 50 pound dog. There may be others that are good too, but I have seen several nurseries fail and this is not one of them. As an airport biologist and dog owner, I would highly recommend this kennel. I use it regularly to transport raptors from our airport (many of them are over 7 years old!) and now I have one for my 33lb Welsh Corgis. It's durable and safe. There is no handle at the top to mislead the ground operators as to improperly…

Approved by CARGO March 2021 WITH PROPELLER MODIFICATION

I will try to help anyone who has not flown with a pet as CARGO as I find the process a royal pain. Two cats from Ohio to Hawaii. I'll get to Hawaii later, but here's what you need to know. We chose American Airlines as they were the only ones carrying pets as cargo due to COVID. I bought medium sized cages for 14 lb cats to give them space. Totally normal. Easy assembly and no damage. Comes with separate food and water tank, decals and screws with PLASTIC wing nuts. You need to buy a kit of…

This was the only kennel I found that best met airline requirements. It is USDA and IATA approved. We were on a military train from the States, so this is just an overview of the kennel's international characteristics and requirements. Features of the children's room: This children's room has 11 plastic bolt holes. That's the only requirement this stand doesn't meet. The kit included plastic nuts. Metal nuts and bolts are now required for every flight. This holder has 11 screw holes and 4…
