Review on TETON SPORTS Model Hunter Green by Justin Dorsett

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super functional and good looking

No wonder this pack has received thousands of 5 star reviews. PROS: It's well built, has a large capacity, and looks good. All pockets, straps and cushioning cords make it easy and compact to stash lots of gear so you don't have to dig through the main compartment to find everything. Adjustable torso straps help carry weight effectively and in a balanced manner. I carry about 30 pounds of gear in it and the weight distribution works really well. Everything I've added in the picture fits in or on the backpack leaving plenty of room for food or other gear. CONS: The sleeping bag compartment is smaller than I would like. I was able to stuff a regular 9x16 sleeping bag inside, but it took some effort to get it in and impossible to take off without opening the inner shelf to pull it out through the top of the pack. I suggest an ultra light sleeping bag that rolls down to 8 inches or less, otherwise it will intrude into the main compartment. Teton Sports have some good ultralight bags that fit well. The two side pockets hold standard 3.5" Nalgene bottles, but getting them in is VERY difficult and requires a lot of strength. Teton is also said to have a zipper for the rain cover again instead of Velcro. Conclusion: This is a fantastic backpack at a fantastic price that will serve you well in the country. The cons weren't enough to stop me giving 5 stars overall.
