Review on 5.11 Tactical Sandstone Platform in X-Large Size by Adam Cummings

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best design

Overall a really good belt. Combat belt due to the passage through the sections. This means I can weave a real belt on the outside of the combat belt and allows me to carry a Kydex holster without having to find another way to attach it to the MOLLE webbing. And like all other 5.11 products, I knew it was going to be of high quality. And again, as with all other 5.11 products, the sizes are slightly different. I am a 34 waist and know that 5.11 belts tend to run small so I ordered a Large/XL combat belt. It's up to you, but the belt that goes up the hips ends above the pockets (on jeans), about a palm-length between the two ends. I'm okay with that because I would never clip anything in that area, but I know some people would prefer the ends to meet or be about to meet. If you haven't figured it out yet, this is just a combat belt and you need a belt to go through it. Many people like Cobra buckle belts, but they can cost anywhere from $80 to $120. I bought it with a Raptor buckle Fusion Riggers belt of identical design made in the USA from aluminum for about $40. As I'm a size 34 I opted for the XL strap again but it was a little too big and required some modification to fit properly. For a regular belt (anything that doesn't fit 5.11), your actual size will fit. Hope that helps.
