Now that I've burned really badly twice, I'm much less excited than at the beginning. It can be greatly improved by two things: a heat resistant tip (very important) and a counterstack pivot. I'm sorry, but a heat protection glove is not an option. This makes the style awkward and clumsy. A third improvement is possible: a less stiff and heavy cable. My worst burn was caused by a heavy cord that was too long and tangled and yanked it out of my hands. In fact, the barrel and the temperature are perfect. I have other curling irons and am very experienced at avoiding burns. But I had nowhere to go with this combo, there was no way to set it firmly on the counter, and the long, heavy, tangled cord was more than I could safely handle.
