We hang them on our dogs for late evening, early sunset, off-leash walks in the woods. There is a clip on the sheath that opens just enough to put on a standard nylon collar. We attach it to the place where the collar folds in half for adjustment so that the plastic clip does not touch the puppy's fur. The viewing angle of the LED is wide enough that you can see the dogs' beacons from a distance. I'm hoping the area around the switch is as waterproof as the rest of the case which has a good seal between the two halves. The battery specified is CR2032 and there are two in this kit. When replacing the CR2016, it also works well. Both buttons 3V. The 2016 CR has less capacity but can be a lot cheaper, which is a net gain. BICYCLE HOLDER The clip on the back of the case has the function of snapping into the channels of the three brackets supplied. You expect to use two of the three mounts, but the screw socket is identical on all three. The rings are tailored to the dimensions of the handlebars, bicycle frame and seat post. One is offset 90º and all three have an adjustment screw that appears to be made of stainless steel. To release the beacon body from the bracket, move the bracket's plastic tab, which allows you to release the locking pin and then slide it out of the channel.
