It's closer to 34 "

I purchased this to put a pop up screen in that measures 37" and is flat and flexible. I thought at 36" diameter with the depth of the bag that I could get it in. It was off by a good 3-4". Otherwise it's exactly as advertised. I ended up using it to store a spare tire. lol.
