Review on La Crosse Technology UltrAtomic Analog Stainless Steel Wall Clock - 14 Inch, Model 404-1235UA-SS by Dave Hock

Fantastic watch with unique features

Installed one of these clocks at home, two (for now) at work in coastal areas of California where other "atomic" clocks never worked. La Crosse Technology's 404-1235UA-SS Super-Atomic Analog Stainless Steel Wall Clock kept the correct time within minutes every time. Have checked this watch many times on time.gov - so far all watches have been accurate to official time. The Eco function turns off the ticking of the second hand from 11:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., saving energy and stopping most ticking noises at night. Watch. A clock is in the spare bedroom, so that's a great feature. Note that the minute hand still ticks every 15 seconds, but it's much less disruptive. Great feature that other (loud) clocks could use! Unlike other buyers, my wife loves the design. The clock is easy to read even from 20 feet away. One small issue - the battery compartment on both watches has springs to make contact with the big end of the battery. It's too easy to squeeze this spring without making contact with the battery. Be especially careful when inserting the last battery. Since you won't have to change batteries for the next four to seven years, it doesn't matter. I plan to buy five more of these clocks for meeting rooms and security posts at work. No more clocks with inaccurate time, no more daylight saving time or no more batteries every year. I hope that La Crosse will soon transfer this technology to other types of watches. Highly recommended. [Update] Bought and installed five more clocks. Even deep in the building, the worst clocks are about 15 seconds behind - sometimes - usually they are accurate. This year, all clocks were automatically switched between winter time and summer time. No more walking with a ladder. Hooray!
