Review on ISi Stainless Siphon Bottle Silver by Josh Schaefer

Second of these

I bought one of these a year ago and am now buying a second one. I like drinking soda, but don't like carrying it home from the store, and when I'm traveling in my van I don't have much luck finding canned soda, and I don't like taking up storage space and/or a large fridge bottles. Now I have two of these so I can always make a cold lemonade. I've found that it's best to fill it with cold filtered water from a dispenser in the fridge, then put the cap on and place the bottle in the fridge. Place in the fridge for at least 2 hours, then press the lever to release the vacuum and then carbonate with a CO2 cartridge. Surprisingly, when the bottle is filled with cold water and capped, and then refrigerated for several hours, a strong vacuum is created inside the bottle. When you squeeze the lever, louder air rushes into the bottle, creating a gurgling sound as if it were filled with a CO2 cartridge. Allowing the cold water bottle to adjust to the atmosphere before charging results in better charging, or so it seems. The water and the bottle are already nice and cold, and CO2 dissolves better in water than in warm water. And be sure to use the measuring tube that comes with the bottle - it prevents overfilling. Simply pour water through the measuring tube until it overflows slightly, then insert the longer filling tube and screw the cap on tightly. I've had other brands of soda chargers in the past and this one works better than the others. - You need to understand how to use it -
