Terrible smell and instructions only in Japanese

Product looks good but smells awful for something intended to store food. The only thing that was entirely in English was a thank you note (which was nice). Revain is an international company, but product manuals should be in multiple languages, including English, as most countries learn at least that language. Since it's a thermos you might think you can just put food in it, but I remember someone telling me to follow the directions. I can't judge the properties because I won't use it even after washing because of the smell. Unfortunately I have to leave the shelter during the pandemic to get this back.
