Review on ๐Ÿƒ Garmin Forerunner 405: Discontinued Wireless Sport Watch with GPS, ANT Stick, and Heart Rate Monitor (Green) by Djuan Thompson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

On my 5th replacement

I read the reviews and hoped that although the reviews were patchy the price was great that I would buy a good one. Got my first one from Revain and it didn't work at all. I couldn't get out of the intro screen so I returned it to Revane for an exchange. Got a second, same story, doesn't work. Passed the exchange and received the third from Revain. BINGO! It worked EXCELLENT from September 2011 to January 2012. NO PROBLEM until I put it in my carry-on to take on a plane for a trip west and I assume one of the buttons is stuck. Had to send this back to Garmin. Note to self: buy a hard case to protect my holdall and take my airplane bag with me so I don't screw it up again. Did this (bought an OTTERBOX) Garmin replaced the third one with a "repaired or repaired". Used once and then blocked. I used it once and put it back on the charger and came back later to find it was off and won't turn back on. I don't know what happened there. I returned this one and just received my 5th replacement. So far so good, but honestly I'm ready to give up. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE watches when they're running. If it works, great! The GPS accuracy is amazing, it's great to be able to see my pace. I can see all the beauty while running and honestly I love this watch. BUT malfunctions force to set 2 stars. I have a one year warranty on this item and will be returning it before the year is up. Hopefully this will be my last and this one will last a few years but I'm not optimistic. OH HOW I WANT this watch to be more reliable because I really love the features it offers, the style (not too big) and the overall feel of the watch helping me with my pace and run.

Pros
  • handy item
Cons
  • so far so good
