Vehicle is a 3200lb (with driver) 400hp Fox Mustang with Cobra 13" front brakes. Switched from Hawk HP Plus to EBC Red Stuff The temperature I live in is currently 25-30 F and there just isn't enough heat to get the Hawk HP Plus up to operating temperature, don't get me wrong I LOVE the HP Plus - in warmer weather they are GREAT.._when_ warmed up. In cold weather like this the HP Plus is almost dangerous. They don't stop, worth jack #&$*# despite a lot of pedal effort. So of course I'm looking for a rubber that will take the cold at 25-30 degrees Weather perfect keeps EBC Red stuff gets me there ALMOST but not quite Cold bite (I mean first 1-5 times I braked up in the morning after start up) is decent but not great as they require a bit more pedal pressure.Almost on eyes higher with OEM pads, but not entirely due to the need for more pedal power. Once reheated they hold up very well (better than OEM) but not as well as reheated HP Plus. So overall EBC Red are decent pads but definitely nothing special; They have average cold bite and above average warmth output, but they take more pedal effort than I need for everyday riding. After a day with them my leg was TIRED. In the meantime, I'll likely return to the semi-metal OEMs and dress up the HP Plus again when spring/summer warms up. In terms of dust, this EBC Red dust is A LOT, definitely more than standard pads. After a 25 mile ride my chrome rims were covered. Whoever claims that he doesn't dust, doesn't brake or is wrong. UPDATE: DO NOT SPEND YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON IT. Get EBC Yellow Stuff - BAAAAAAAAAA better cold grip, initial grip, overall grip, better fade resistance, less dust and zero noise.
