Just buy a second AeroPress. We all love our AeroPress coffee makers, but they're a real pain when you have guests and need to make a few cups in the morning. I bought it to solve this problem. Here's what I found. First, for those of you who buy a double-walled press to keep coffee warm for later, don't. After 4 minutes of pressing my coffee was 166 degrees but after 20 minutes it dropped to 135. And that was the tannin. Leaving the coffee in the press means it's still brewing and not improving in quality. You'll want to pour it into a thermos or just plan on pouring it into another mug and heating it up. This thing doesn't have a double filter and I think you can see in my photo that it leaves a lot of residue. The coffee was ground to a medium grind in a Capreso grinder. There wasn't as much mud in the first bowl as there was in the second. . .nu, look at the photo. I didn't press it too hard and didn't try to merge the last bit. Plan it and don't expect to finish the last cup. Cleaning isn't bad, but the sediment gets stuck on the edge of the filter so it's not as easy to rinse out. I figured I could make a few cups quicker (and with less effort) than pushing each cup through the AeroPress, but I'm not sure if that would save time. What about preheating a large metal press and brewing for 4 minutes instead of my usual 1:30 in an aeropress isn't fast. There is only 1 click, not 2 or 3 which is nice. Maybe a little less babysitting than the AeroPress. The coffee is good. That's way better than what's roasted in a glass carafe like Cuisinart or Mister Coffee. This press is well made and strong; a much better idea than a glass french press. But if you're used to AeroPress's smooth, particle-free coffee, you'll be disappointed with the taste of this coffee. And if you're trying to save time, keep looking for an alternative.
