Not suitable for calligraphy on vellum
I bought this ink for a calligraphy project on vellum. Unfortunately, I had a deadline and this project looked terrible with this mascara. Everything looked fine at first, but after a minute the ink spread on the parchment, making the inscription look dirty. Also, it's so thin that when dry, the calligraphy looked as if it had been done in a washing machine and the ink looked watered down. I've used speedball ink in the past with predictable results. Obviously, not all calligraphy inks are created equal. I do not recommend.
