Great for large areas

I've never bothered to write a review. For the money it was fantastic for my dogs. I have 3 dogs and 2 of these units. My German Shepherd and Gordon Setter like to hike 2 to 3.5 miles down the road from time to time. We have properties on the North Shore where fencing is almost impossible. At home we have a fence in the ground and our German Shepherd comes by it from time to time to see if it is working. When not wearing a collar, she goes to the local swamp for several hours. I bought 2 of these collars after looking at Halo and other similar ones. And we've had great results. Very easy. Set the center of the desired fence. Set the distance from your chosen center. I used it for the first time with a friend on a 20 hectare property. Activated Units. Establish a central location and then give the dogs 70 meters from the center. The dogs understood almost immediately. The collar vibrates and beeps like a 1995 pager/pager, and the adjustable shock setting is pretty powerful, according to My German Shepherd. Then I took it to the North Shore where I became interested in signal strength and elevation changes. Works perfectly every time. We returned to shore several times, and I didn't have to drop the middle. The memory works well as long as the battery is not dead. Battery life is about a day and a half with my Gordon wandering aimlessly, and I think my German is testing its limits because it's ready to charge in the dark. I have found this collar to work best at 50 yards or higher. My home garden is 2.5 acres and 80 yards giving them full use of the front and back yard and more than a few neighbors. At less than 50 meters the GPS will crawl a bit and may have some incorrect corrections but it works very well, dogs quickly identify the boundary with a beep and vibration without getting a shock. Satellite reception is stronger than my cell phone signal. . Confused with a caller with no central position and he said he was connected to 9-12 satellites everywhere except in tunnels. That being said I will remove the dogs when I am inside. My house doesn't seem to block satellite light much, but it's definitely losing some of those 12 signals. I can only imagine a house with a metal roof
